FAQ

Wardrobe

You want to present your best self, express your personality, but also consider what is going to photograph well..

Clothes should be clean, pressed, and lint/hair free. It is ideal to transport clothes hanging or at the very least loosely packed in a large duffle type bag. Do not stuff clothes into a bag that leaves them wrinkled upon arrival.

Simple and well fitting is often best. Avoid baggy, bulky, or overly-casual clothing unless its an on-trend look you really want to show in your portraits.. Subtle patterns are prefered over loud distracting prints. Consider color theory as well: dark colors are more formal and authoritative, light colors invoke a welcoming and friendly personality, bright colors can feel youthful or full of energy,

Photo Selections & Delivery

You have two options for choosing photos for retouching. The most common is to wait until your web gallery is uploaded and from those you can choose the file numbers of the photos to be retouched.

Alternatively, we can review all the images at the end of shoot and choose together. This is helpful if you are in a hurry and want to expedite the process of receiving the retouched photos.

After your selections are made, final photos are delivered within 48 hrs to your Dropbox folder.

Hair/make-up

Your headshot should be an accurate representation of what you really look like. For women, makeup should be light and natural. If you do choose to have professional makeup concentrate on hiding any imperfections, enhancing natural features, while avoiding heavy eyeliner, eyeshadow, and lipstick.

Cancel/Reschedule

You may cancel or reschedule a shoot 48 hrs in advance free of any service charge. Cancellations under 24 hrs are not refundable however you can reschedule for a $25 fee. Cancellations under 48 hrs due to covid or other extenuating circumstances will be accepted with a waiver of any rescheduling fees. This policy is necessary out of consideration for time slots that could be offered to someone else and planning our schedules.

General Tips

To prepare for your session focus on good sleep, drinking water to stay hydrated, and avoiding as much stress as possible. It can be ideal to avoid shooting after a long workday when you look tired and instead schedule earlier in the day if possible. We will provide coaching throughout the session so do not worry about knowing what to do in front of the camera! For studio sessions we tether into the computer and review images in real time. For outdoor locations, we will look through images on the camera or an iPad so we can see exactly what we are getting.
